[I've been struggling with the decision on how to push this forward and settled on the following.  As always if you would prefer your character do something different let me know and we can change certain things, however at this point I believe we've reached a point where it's time to keep going.  I'm also going to attempt to wrap-up all of this "Prologue" as briefly and directly as possible here so that we can move forward into the "Main" adventures for each of your chracters...]

Versus Malgrathor
The group has come up with a solid way to survive against Malgrathor to some extent, keeping the monster distracted by constantly attacking it's eye and then cutting it with the only weapons that hurt him, the sword and knife.

The knife is a part of the sword, and placing it on the blade magically reforges it and brings out its full power against Malgrathor, which is what he has been attempting to prevent-- But every time he catches one of you, it's a game of "keep away" and the lack of focus simply isn't allowing him to overcome you all.

While it does become a question of whether you all will drop of thirst and exhaustion first, the simple fact is that this is that the weapon is one of the few things in all of Existence that can actually harm and possibly destroy Malgrathor, who is an avatar of Ghaunadaur-- a deity who predates Ao (the Overgod) himself.

A creature of manipulation and deception, he has no more desire to risk direct confrontation and flees.

Malgrathor
"I WILL REMEMBER THE SCENT OF YOUR SOULS, EACH OF YOU, AND HUNT YOU DOWN ONE BY ONE!"

And just like that, he is gone, imploding into a pitch black ooze and sinking into the sand faster than he can be caught.

After several long and intense moments, you all realize that he is, in fact, gone-- and doesn't seem to be coming back.

Memories hit each of you full force-- and the people of Lómenslindorë are not spared, many of them falling to their knees, grabbing their heads or wretching into the sand as the memories slam into them full force.

[This next part I'm going to push through because it's pretty much the only path to keep everyone alive]

Pragmatism quickly takes over, as it must.  Everyone is thirsty, some dying of thirst, and those who were in the battle are in dire need.

Thos explains to the group that the Temple in the desert is real-- and there is water there, but none will reach it before they die in the Endless Wastes.

None, except for perhaps those who can fly-- among you all, Kragar alone is able to do this.  And he is, perhaps, strong enough to bring some of the water back.

Phineas has the idea of a skiff that can "ride the sand" and will in fact be able to carry several of you.

During planning, this is when Amina-- the eldest of the children that was helping some of you earlier-- reveals that she is, in fact, a minor priestess of Torm the True-- having been taught in secret by the angel known to everyone as The Librarian.  Thos stands stunned for several long moments as memories flood him [and those with super eagle-eyes will notice the several tiny clues throughout the story]

She can't do much, but with Torm's access to Lómenslindorë returned, he has granted her the power to summon small amounts of water, which she suggests giving to Kragar first for his journey accross the desert, and then to everyone else in order of need to keep them alive.

In the meantime, Phineas recruits a team to begin construction of his idea for a sandskiff, while Thos leads others to retrieve everyone's gear.

Thos also reveals another problem:  The desert really is "Endless" as Lómenslindorë is actually no longer even on the Prime Material Plane.  The hidden temple is the only Gate out of this world, and the map of how to place the keys was in the (now destroyed) stained-glass ceiling of the Library.

Thankfully Phineas, Lorennia, and Ghar had mostly solved that puzzle long before you all got to it.
Unfortunatley, nothing seems to happen.

Until you begin to leave the temple, and find yourself under water... The entire desert has been flooded and while you can see the Sun for now, it seems to be getting farther away, as though the water is rising?

After struggling to get to the surface, you find dry land close by and everyone is able to reach it, with help.

You find yourselves in what must be Lantan, and after a much needed celebration in the Silver Hook Tavern, the discussion turns to where each of you will go and what you will do next?

EXPERIENCE:

All characters from this adventure gain +3,000 Experience.

All players  need to roll % dice (d100) for your characters in this adventure and let me know the results...
I'm letting you roll because this is deeply tied to your charcter's fate, so good luck!!!

1. Continue the discussions of where you want each of your characters to go in this thread, or ask any questions you have about this story from the safety of the tavern... Or Phineas's house, if he lets you go home with him!  Remember, you'll be going by ship unless you come up with some other way to travel, so make the necessary prepartions.

2. You can ask questions and discussion level-ups for your characters in the character sheets, or directly with me... Don't clog up this story area with level-up/xp questions please.

What do you do?

GameMaster

Thos
Thos has been muted and somber throughout the celebrations, seemingly more interested in helping everyone else than getting anything for himself.  When asked, he explains that once everyone is on their way, he intends to go to the Church of Torm to turn himself in for judgement and punishment for his crimes.
What do you do?

Phineas

#94
Well, I have a skiff  ...  I need to get provisions  ...  since water has risen, need to find out if there is fish (make a fishing pole) and possibly figure a way to build a bigger boat

"BTW, anyone who needs a spot to crash, come on, I have one of the nicer places in the slum  ...  bigger, too"    ;)

BTW, I rolled a 93

Complex_Assault

Ghar avoids Thos for now, while staying by The two half-dragons, religiously backing they're every move and word, like a well trained puppy would their owner. (In his head suffering at the loss of so many magic Items in the library- though he has yet to consider how he would carry so many in the first place.)

(If not done already, he retrieves Ash from Lorrenia)

muichiro

(i rolled an 85)

*i stay away from everyone for now and just chill thinking about what i should do next*

Kragar

(I rolled a Frelling 69.  I kid you not.)

[d100 = 90.  Who is paying for this celebration?]

Lörennia has been absent from most of the celebrations because she doesn't want to be a downer – while she never had the opportunity to be particularly vain, the fact is that until Lómë fell apart she probably looked damned good (relatively speaking) and could never find a mirror that would reflect that.  She'll never look that good again, and it really hurts that she couldn't enjoy it while it lasted.

Lörennia has two questions for Thos.  The questions are pretty straightforward:
* How long was I in Lómë?
* How long do you think that was out here?

Lörennia is also hoping Phineas can help a bit with passage to Nimbral (just finding a trustworthy captain is a bit beyond her experience).  Since we're so close already, it's time for the prodigal daughter to return home...inasmuch as she can ever go home after decades away.

Phineas

"Party at my place !!!"

"we'll get the dragon man to do the cooking ...  ;D "

"I'll grab some temple wine, if there's any left, I know where the good stuff is."

Coyotemoon

(Rolled a 90) Since I have no pressing plans I mostly stuck with the group expcet for the times I tried my hand at hunting or fishing for provisions. It had been awhile since I had been around people so I am soaking it up a bit.

LorenniaNailo

By the way, is anyone else still interested in that book?  If so, I'll happily yield it to whoever wants it, but if not, I'll take it.

Complex_Assault

(Rolled a 77)

Ghar is partially split between his need for adventure, and serving those closer to true dragons than himself. He chooses to push that aside for tomorrow, and keep a lookout for rottin' stinkin' scum of the earth gnomes.

Kragar

(Kragar might be interested.)

LorenniaNailo

[Interested to read, or just to have?  Lörennia wants to read it.]
